The Winthrop Eagles baseball team lost a tight contest against High Point, falling 9-8 after extra innings. Despite taking an early lead and strong performances from several players, a late comeback by High Point secured their victory.
Winthrop softball was defeated by USC Upstate in the Big South Conference Championship game on May 9. The Eagles took an early lead but ultimately fell short after strong offensive play from their opponents.
Winthrop University’s baseball team lost to High Point after losing an early lead at Williard Stadium. Key players reached season milestones despite falling short late in the game. The series concludes tomorrow afternoon.
