Congressman Ralph Norman of South Carolina expressed his support for the Senate’s amended version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, despite having fiscal concerns. In a statement following his vote, Congressman Norman emphasized the priorities set by President Trump and his commitment to aligning with those objectives.

“The American people elected President Trump to get this country back on track, and he was clear about the priorities he’d fight for. I worked hard to make this bill as strong and fiscally responsible as possible, but at the end of the day, I’m standing with the president and the voters who sent him to the White House to get this done,” said Norman.

He noted that while the House version aimed to reverse elements of what he referred to as “Biden’s Green New Scam” and impose stricter controls on welfare abuse and illegal immigration, the Senate’s version did not fully meet these goals. Nevertheless, he decided it was important to provide immediate tax relief.

“The House version of the One Big Beautiful Bill rolled back Biden’s Green New Scam and put strict limits on welfare abuse and illegal immigration. While the Senate’s fell short of what I had hoped for, I made a judgment call: deliver immediate tax relief now and keep fighting for the rest.”

Norman reiterated his commitment to advocating for fiscal responsibility in government operations. “I’ll keep pushing for fiscal sanity and a government that lives within its means,” he stated.
