A York County Sheriff's Office deputy has been recognized as Drug Recognition Expert of the Year for a second time by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Lance Corporal Christopher Anderson was honored for his efforts against drug-impaired driving. Sheriff Tony Breeden praised Anderson's achievement as an example of professionalism at YCSO.

The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of stolen funds involving cash payments at Field Day Park in Clover between October 2020 and March 2026. Authorities are asking anyone who paid cash for certain services during this time period to come forward. The park remains open while officials continue their inquiry.

The York County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit earned Gold status at statewide awards recognizing excellence in traffic safety. Deputy Katie Howell also received individual honors for DUI enforcement. The agency continues serving over 225,000 residents across a large area of South Carolina.
