Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, shared updates on his recent activities in Washington via social media posts dated July 23, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 12:42 p.m., Norman wrote, “Such an honor to be at the White House last night to celebrate the One Big Beautiful Bill with President Trump https://t.co/GPiHj9b3NG”.
Later that day at 2:00 p.m., he addressed government spending oversight, stating, “DOGE flagged over $100 billion in waste—we’ve only scratched the surface. We need another rescissions bill!”
By evening, Norman signaled his return to his home district after legislative activity. He tweeted at 9:00 p.m., “After a busy few months passing the One Big Beautiful Bill & cutting out waste, fraud, and abuse in Washington’s budget, I’m headed back to the District. See you soon, South Carolina! https://t.co/nhveCpHUoN”
Norman has represented South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District since succeeding Mick Mulvaney in 2017. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. Born and residing in Rock Hill, South Carolina since his birth in 1953, Norman is also an alumnus of Presbyterian College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.
