Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, recently highlighted law enforcement heroism and legislative efforts on his social media account.

On September 5, Norman praised a state trooper’s actions in Chester County. He wrote, “Heroism on full display in Chester County!! Senior Trooper R.A. Lee put his life on the line to stop a wrong-way driver and protect countless others. His Medal of Valor is well deserved — we’re proud to back the men and women of SCHP who keep SC safe every day.”

Later that day, Norman expressed support for prison security reforms. He stated, “Proud to support the Cellphone Jamming Reform Act. Inmates shouldn’t be able to run drug rings, order murders, or plan escapes with contraband phones. This bill gives prisons the tools to shut it down and keep America safe.” The proposed legislation aims to restrict inmates’ ability to use contraband cellphones for criminal activity.

On September 6, Norman shared an update from a political event: “Great being with Border Czar Tom Homan tonight at State Freedom Caucus Foundation!!”

Norman has served as South Carolina’s 5th district representative since succeeding Mick Mulvaney in 2017 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. Born in Rock Hill in 1953, he continues to reside there and graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.
