Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, has recently highlighted his legislative efforts and community engagement through a series of posts on social media.
On September 17, 2025, Norman emphasized his push for congressional term limits by stating, “My term limits amendment is about restoring citizen government. Our founders never intended for Congress to become a career ladder. 100 cosponsors down, more to come. “
The following day, Norman shared details of his interaction with students from The Citadel during their visit to Washington D.C., writing on September 18, “Had the pleasure to meet @Citadel1842 cadets during their visit to D.C. Always encouraging to see the next generation of leaders gaining a first-hand look at how the political process works. Hope y’all enjoy your trip!!”
Later that same day, he noted his participation in an event at the Library of Congress: “Honored to be speaking at the Library of Congress today with business and community leaders from the Midlands. Strong federal advocacy starts with making sure our local voices are heard in Washington. Thank you for having me!”
Norman succeeded Mick Mulvaney as representative for South Carolina’s 5th district in 2017 after previously serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1953 and a graduate of Presbyterian College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Norman continues to reside in Rock Hill while serving his constituents.
