Ralph Norman, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to express opposition to the DIGNIDAD Act and highlight his legislative record.

On April 13, 2026, Norman posted, “Let’s say it how it is, the DIGNIDAD ACT is a trojan horse for mass amnesty. It’s a hard no.” On the same day, he referenced his score from a prominent conservative advocacy group: “Anyone can say they stand for Americans in Congress. Few can prove it. Proud to have earned a 100% rating on the @Heritage_Action scorecard. ”

The following day, Norman reiterated his position on immigration legislation with another statement: “Republicans in Congress promised the American people we would secure the U.S. border. Mass amnesty fails to carry out that promise.”

Norman has served in Congress since succeeding Mick Mulvaney in 2017 and previously spent more than a decade in the South Carolina House of Representatives. Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1953, he continues to reside there and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Presbyterian College.
