Rep. Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, shared a series of updates on social media between July 28 and July 29, 2025, highlighting his legislative priorities and recent activities.

On July 28, Norman addressed ongoing budgetary concerns in Congress. He wrote, “Our mission isn’t done after $9 billion in cuts. Congress must continue codifying DOGE efforts, clawing back every dollar of waste identified by DOGE.”

Later that day, Norman posted about his engagement with local first responders and law enforcement officials from South Carolina’s 5th district. He stated, “It was a pleasure joining first responders from around SC-05, with keynote speaker @RepClayHiggins, to discuss the importance of maintaining a firm relationship with local law enforcement agencies. I’ll always back the blue!!” The event underscored his support for law enforcement and collaboration at the community level.

On July 29, Norman commented on a major federal regulatory development under the Trump administration: ” HUGE: Today marks the largest deregulatory action in U.S. history. The Trump Admin is moving to repeal the radical Obama-era ‘Endangerment Finding’ — the backbone of the Left’s war on gas-powered cars. This is reversing years of radical climate overreach!!”

Norman has served as a member of Congress since replacing Mick Mulvaney in 2017 and previously represented York County in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. Born in Rock Hill in 1953 and an alumnus of Presbyterian College (class of 1975), Norman has consistently emphasized fiscal responsibility and public safety during his tenure.
