Rep. Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, has used his social media platform in recent days to highlight legislative achievements and call for increased transparency and accountability in government.
On July 17, 2025, Norman wrote that thanks to the passage of a new bill, “Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, South Carolinians will see $3,300–$6,000 more in wages and nearly 100,000 jobs protected over the next 4 years. More jobs. More take-home pay. More freedom for families to thrive.”
The following day, Norman addressed ongoing national concerns about transparency regarding Jeffrey Epstein-related information. In a post dated July 18, he stated: ” As President Trump just called for, I’m leading the resolution to release credible Epstein info, protect whistleblowers & victims, and fight for transparency. This is real accountability, not the political stunt Democrats tried to pull. Now let’s work with @POTUS to get”.
Later on July 18, Norman posted about fiscal responsibility in Congress: “FINALLY the Swamp has agreed to commonsense. We ought to learn that taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be treated like Monopoly money. Accountability isn’t radical, it’s responsible.”
Norman has represented South Carolina’s 5th District since replacing Mick Mulvaney in Congress in 2017. Before joining Congress, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 until his election to federal office. Born in Rock Hill in 1953 and a graduate of Presbyterian College with a BS degree earned in 1975, Norman continues to reside in Rock Hill as he pursues legislative initiatives focused on economic growth and government accountability.
