Ralph Norman, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, posted several messages on his social media account on September 10 and 11, 2025. The posts included prayers for Charlie Kirk and his family as well as reflections on the anniversary of September 11.

On September 10, Norman wrote, “Please join me in prayer for Charlie Kirk and his family.” Later that evening, he continued with another message: “This is truly heart-breaking. Elaine and I are praying for Charlie’s young family. Political violence has no place in America. Justice must be swift.”

The following day, Norman marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks by stating: “Today we remember one of the darkest days in our nation’s history—the evil we faced, and the unmatched strength of the American spirit. I am forever grateful to our first responders and to the men and women in uniform who answered the call. God bless the USA.”

Norman has served as a member of Congress since replacing Mick Mulvaney in 2017 and previously held office in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. He was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1953 and continues to reside there. Norman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Presbyterian College in 1975.
