Rep. Ralph Norman, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 5th district since 2017, recently highlighted his legislative efforts and expressed support for law enforcement in a series of social media posts.

On January 8, 2026, Norman announced his involvement with federal banking reform: “Proud to cosponsor the Main Street Capital Access Act to modernize federal banking laws and put everyday Americans first. This package includes my Rural Depositories Revitalization Study Act, focused on strengthening rural banks and protecting local communities from https://t.co/oD1wA5HB83”. In a follow-up post the same day, he added: “More: https://t.co/aLO1gmYFRq”.

The next day, Norman posted about public safety personnel: “Today and every day, we thank the men and women who wear the badge and walk the thin blue line to keep our communities safe. Your service and sacrifice matter. God bless our law enforcement!! https://t.co/8CHp4NTKDF” (January 9, 2026).

Norman has represented South Carolina’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Mick Mulvaney in 2017; prior to that he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017. He was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1953 and continues to reside there. Norman graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.
