Representative Ralph Norman, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 5th District since 2017, recently used social media to promote new legislative proposals and highlight provisions of a bill aimed at providing financial relief for working Americans. Norman, who previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017 and is a lifelong resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina, made several statements about tax policy and federal aid programs.

On July 10, 2025, Norman stated: “No tax on tips. No tax on overtime. No tax on American-made auto loan interest. The One Big Beautiful Bill is real relief for working Americans.”

Later that day, he addressed federal education funding with another post: “No more taxpayer-funded college aid for illegal aliens. THIS is what 77 million Americans voted for!!”

On July 11, 2025, Norman responded to criticism regarding the bill’s beneficiaries: “The Left called OBBB a giveaway to the rich. The truth? Americans making $15k–$30k got the biggest tax cut of all — 23%.”

Ralph Norman was born in Rock Hill in 1953 and graduated from Presbyterian College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
