Cost of college went up for all students at Northeastern Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at Northeastern Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina residents paid $4,614 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $318 more than the $4,296 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 55.1 percent more than residents this year, or $7,158. Their price tag grew 4.6 percent from $6,840 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are South Carolina residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 138 students received grants or scholarships totaling $971,020.

Including all undergraduates (1,275), 864 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.2 million.
