The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on November 5.

This week, for private businesses with 100+ employees, the Biden administration announced two policies related to  COVID-19 vaccine rules which will take effect on Jan. 4, 2022.

The first rule, issued by OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration), states that companies with 100+ employees must ensure their workers are either fully vaccinated by Jan. 4 or that they test negative for COVID-19 at least once a week and wear face masks in the workplace. Under that rule, employers must pay employees for the time it takes to get vaccinated and provide sick leave for workers to recover from any side effects. The second policy states that all workers at health care facilities participating in Medicare or Medicaid must be fully vaccinated by Jan. 4, covering more than 17 million workers.
