Clinton College: Clinton College and City of Rock Hill Partner to Offer Community Opportunities

Cdc 1

Clinton College issued the following announcement on December 6.

Clinton College and the City of Rock Hill were awarded a $3.5 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to address the health disparities in the city’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, specifically the south side of Rock Hill. The Clinton Health ConNEXTion grant is a partnership between Rock Hill and Clinton College with lead project management, quality improvement, and evaluation through the Clinton College Community Development Corporation (CC-CDC). The grant project seeks to enhance collaborative community participation and further develop current community programs to include health promotion, address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among our target populations, and promote the increase of vaccination rates.

Clinton College Community Development Corporation is hiring 10 Community Health Workers (CHW) with a proposed salary of $40,000 per year to help patients and families navigate community services and resources to adopt healthy behaviors. The CHW supports providers through an integrated approach to care management and community outreach, providing social support and informal counseling, advocating for individuals and community health needs, and providing services such as first aid, and blood pressure screening. The job description can be found at www.clintoncollege.edu/about/employment. Resumes and cover letters are being accepted until positions are filled and can be emailed to Matthew Livingston, DHHS Grant Administrative Assistant, at mlivingston@clintoncollege.edu.
