Washington, DC - Congressman Joe Wilson released a statement addressing recent terrorist activities in the United States. He began by citing the FBI's definition of domestic terrorism: “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.”
Wilson highlighted recent incidents as part of an ongoing conflict with those who intend harm. He noted that "ISIS-inspired evil struck and killed innocent Americans celebrating New Year’s in New Orleans." Additionally, he mentioned a potential terrorist incident near a Trump hotel property in Las Vegas and a suspect detained after the FBI disrupted a possible plot against employees of a national pro-Israel organization in Florida.
Wilson attributed these events to what he described as damage to America's moral fabric over four years under Biden/Harris policies. He criticized open borders, inflation issues, organized antisemitism on campuses, and other concerns.
Looking forward to 2025 and the 119th Congress, Wilson expressed optimism about Republican leadership under President-elect Donald Trump. He stated that House Republicans and the new Senate majority are committed to advancing "a conservative agenda to Make America Great Again."
