Co-Chairs of the Congressional Bulgaria Caucus, Joe Wilson (R-SC), Bradley Schneider (D-IL), Neal Dunn (R-FL), and Richard Neal (D-MA), have introduced the Bulgarian-American Heritage Month Resolution. This legislative measure aims to honor the contributions of Bulgarians to the United States since the 19th Century.

Joe Wilson expressed, "I am grateful to lead this important legislation recognizing the contributions that Bulgarian-Americans have made to the United States and the strong benefits of the bilateral relationship." Wilson recalled his visit to Bulgaria in 1990 as an election observer, witnessing the country's shift from communism to democratic values. He noted that this experience inspired him to establish the caucus in 2002 to reinforce the partnership between the two nations.

Bradley Schneider emphasized the influence of Bulgarian-Americans on U.S. society, saying, "Bulgarian-Americans have helped shape our nation for generations, strengthening our communities, economy, and future. The partnership between the United States and Bulgaria is built on shared values and made stronger by the deep ties forged by those who call both countries home."

Bulgaria's Ambassador to the United States, Georgi Panayotov, thanked the co-chairs for their bipartisan commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries. He highlighted the role of Bulgarian-Americans, remarking, "Their dedication and achievements give meaning to our daily mission as diplomats representing Bulgaria in the United States." He also noted the Bulgarian community's business successes throughout the U.S., particularly in Illinois.

Ambassador Panayotov remarked on the occasion's significance, as the countries mark 122 years of diplomatic relations. He honored "a legacy of friendship, partnership, and strategic cooperation—built on shared values and strengthened by the bonds between our peoples."
